Fill in our contact form, WhatsApp us or give us a call to discuss your needs and check availability. From there, we’ll arrange a free initial meeting with your primary pet minder. This gives you the opportunity to meet them, ask questions and make sure Good Dog is the right fit for you and your pet.

Your dog’s first session with us will always be one-to-one. This gives their minder the opportunity to build a relationship with them, understand how they respond to a new person and environment, and assess what type of care will suit them best.

Where appropriate, we can then gradually introduce them to a suitable group. We never expect a new dog to immediately settle into group care.

Yes. We are fully insured with specialist pet business insurance, and all of our walkers and sitters are vetted and DBS checked. The relevant documentation is available to view at your initial meeting.

Our group walks are kept intentionally small, with a maximum of four dogs per group. This allows our walkers to give each dog individual attention while creating groups that are carefully matched for temperament, social preferences and walking style.

We don’t believe every dog needs to enjoy group walks, and we never expect a dog to simply fit into a group. We consider their temperament, social preferences, communication, confidence, energy levels and previous experiences when deciding which dogs are suitable companions.

Every new dog starts with a one-to-one session, allowing us to get to know them before considering a carefully managed group introduction.

That’s absolutely fine. Some dogs are happier and more comfortable with one-to-one care, and their welfare always comes before fitting them into a particular service. We may recommend solo walks or another option that better suits your dog’s needs.

Once you join Good Dog, you’ll receive access to our online booking and billing system, powered by Pet Sitter Plus. You can use this to book, amend or cancel services, manage your invoices and communicate with your primary pet minder.

You’ll have one primary pet minder who will get to know you and your pet. If they’re unavailable due to illness or annual leave, another member of our team can step in to provide cover. If you’d like to meet your secondary minder too, we’re happy to arrange this.

Your primary pet minder will usually keep a copy of your house key securely for access to your home. If you prefer, we’re also happy to use a key safe or lockbox.

Yes. We have experience caring for dogs who need a little more time, space or understanding. We take things at your dog’s pace and adapt our approach to their individual needs. Depending on the dog, this may include one-to-one walks, quieter locations, gradual introductions or other adjustments to help them feel comfortable and secure.

Dogs change throughout their lives, and their care sometimes needs to change with them. If we notice a change in your dog’s behaviour, confidence, mobility, social preferences or general wellbeing, we’ll discuss this with you and consider whether their current routine or service is still the right fit.

We monitor weather conditions carefully and adapt walks when necessary. This may mean changing the location, shortening or altering a walk, or replacing outdoor exercise with another form of enrichment where appropriate. Your dog’s comfort and safety always come first.
